"Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing" Salvador Dali
This gallery features Old Master studies, Nudes, Still life and commissioned portraits for commemorative stamps. From March 2015-February 2016 the portrait of Marian Anderson was exhibited at the Smithsonian's National Postal  Museum: I really enjoy studying the old masters, reading about them, understanding their methods and techniques. Some of my influences are: Bouguereau,  Sargent,
Van Dyck, Rembrandt, Philip De Laszlo,
Ivan Kramskoy and many many more. They all have valuable lessons to teach.
Most important of all is drawing and painting from life…I try to paint from life at least once a week, most of the portrait sketches were painted in a 3 to 6 hour session. This is the most difficult of disciplines to master!
