"A portrait is a painting with something wrong with the mouth."
John Singer Sargent

Painting Mike Holmes on a reality TV show was a lot of fun for me; it gave me a chance to paint on location. For the first part of the show I painted an alla prima portrait of him in about 2 and a half hours on live television, a bit nerve racking at times but I survived. The finished portrait is Mike standing in his iconic stance, tough on the bad guys...lol. It was great meeting him, a super nice guy! Video can be viewed under Press. I painted a portrait of my dad Mr. Robert Slark to celebrate his retirement, he was more than a willing subject!
